School-Based Anthropometric Assessment and Health Screening
On 13 August 2024, Young Leaders Collaboration for Global Health Nepal (YLCGH-Nepal) conducted a School Health Program at Shree Shanta Secondary School in Pokhara, Kaski. The initiative focused on assessing students’ physical growth and vision health through height and weight measurements and eye check-ups.
The program aimed to support early identification of potential health concerns and strengthen awareness of students’ overall health and well-being. By incorporating basic health screening within the school setting, the initiative contributed to promoting preventive healthcare and supporting the healthy development of school-aged children.
The program was successfully conducted with the cooperation and support of the school principal, vice principal, teachers, and staff. YLCGH-Nepal also acknowledges the valuable participation of its members from Pokhara University, Gandaki Medical College, Manipal Pokhara College of Medical Sciences, and Chitwan Medical College, whose involvement contributed to the successful implementation of the program.
The initiative reflects YLCGH-Nepal’s continued commitment to bringing preventive health services and health promotion activities closer to children and communities through school-based interventions.
