School Health Program: First Aid for Burns
On 17 November 2024, Young Leaders Collaboration for Global Health-Nepal (YLCGH-Nepal) conducted an interactive School Health Program session on First Aid for Burns at Shree Bhanodaya School, Mahalaxmi, Lalitpur.
The session aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and practical understanding of how to respond appropriately to burn injuries. Through interactive learning, students were introduced to basic first aid measures, appropriate immediate responses, and the importance of seeking timely medical care when required.
The session emphasized that knowing the correct first aid response can help reduce further harm and provide timely support before professional medical assistance is available. By building these skills among school-aged children, the initiative contributed to strengthening health awareness, emergency preparedness, and safety within the school and wider community.
The program reflected YLCGH-Nepal’s commitment to school-based health promotion and empowering young people with practical health knowledge that can be applied in everyday emergencies.
