School-Based Anthropometric Assessment and Visual Acuity Screening

On 8 September 2025, Young Leaders Collaboration for Global Health-Nepal (YLCGH-Nepal) conducted a School-Based Anthropometric Assessment and Visual Acuity Screening Program at Shree Siddhi Mangal Secondary School, Siddhipur, Lalitpur. The program focused on assessing students’ physical growth and nutritional status through height and weight measurements. Visual acuity screening was also conducted to identify potential vision-related challenges at an early stage and promote greater awareness of eye health among students. These basic health assessments provided an opportunity to monitor key indicators of students’ health and support the early recognition of potential concerns. The initiative also emphasized the importance of integrating preventive health screening into the school environment, where health concerns can be identified and addressed in a timely manner. Through this ongoing school-based initiative, YLCGH-Nepal continues to promote accessible preventive health services and strengthen health awareness among young learners.
