School-Based Anthropometric Assessment and Visual Acuity Screening

On 5 November 2025, Young Leaders Collaboration for Global Health-Nepal (YLCGH-Nepal) conducted a School-Based Anthropometric Assessment and Visual Acuity Screening Program at Shree Bhanodaya Basic School, Mahalaxmi, Lalitpur. The program focused on monitoring students’ physical growth and nutritional status through height and weight measurements. Visual acuity screening was also conducted to identify potential vision-related concerns at an early stage and encourage greater awareness of eye health among students. The initiative reflects YLCGH-Nepal’s approach to bringing preventive health services into the school environment, where basic health assessments can support early identification of concerns and promote timely attention to students’ health needs. By integrating health assessment and health awareness within schools, the program also contributes to strengthening the role of students and teachers in promoting healthy practices within their families and communities. Through continued school-based interventions, YLCGH-Nepal remains committed to empowering young people and supporting healthier learning environments—working toward its vision of youth leadership for a healthier world.
